Journal of This Southern Africa Adventure
February, 2000
28 February
Rain, Rain, and a little more rain. This has been the rainiest period in South Africa in 40 years. It started in mid-December and continued for two months.
The De Wildt Cheetah Research Center was the primary attraction in February. The place has been breeding cheetahs for about 30 years. They learned more about the cheetah behavior during that period than had ever been known before.

Even though it has been raining a lot, we have been enjoying our new golf clubs which we picked up around Christmas time. We thought that, since we were in sunny South Africa (yeah right), and in the home of Gray Player, Ernie Els, and Nick Price, that we should start whacking some balls around. We are whacking a lot, and sometimes we actually hit them.
