Journal of This Southern Africa Adventure
October, 2000
This month we moved into a new house and did some paragliding training.
We also took another trip to the Cape Town area, specifically, the Whale Route. The whales are in the Cape Town area (and points east) between July and November every year to mate. This area is also known as the Overbergs.
Some interesting areas in the Whale Route are Hermanus (the major tourist whale watching area), Cape Agulhas (the southern most point in Africa), Arniston (a beautiful town of Dutch Cape Colonial homes), Caledon (a farming area), and De Hoop Nature Reserve (the best land based whale watching area in the world), and Gordon's Bay, near Cape Town.
As mentioned several months ago, I must get pictures of several typical African scenes. I am beginning a collection in several "African Scenes" pages.
