We are:

Bessy Lee and Chris Whiting. 

We thought that it may be interesting to note who we are because our opinions about Southern Africa, which may appear on these pages are based on our backgrounds and beliefs.

We are an interracial couple.  Bessy was born in China (Taiwan), and grew up in Singapore, Malaysia.  She went to the U.S. for college (University of California and Rutgers University), began to work in the US and eventually became a US citizen on her own.

Chris is a white Anglo-Saxon catholic (WASC?), born and raised in the small city of Glens Falls, New York.  He went to Boston College and Rutgers University. 

Bessy and Chris currently reside in a small country home in the farmlands of New Jersey.  Yes, there are farms, a rolling countryside, lakes, streams, and very quaint towns in the Garden State.

We like to do adventurous things and believe that we have open minds.  Hence, when the opportunity arose for us to travel abroad for an extended period of time, we jumped at it.
