Deer Creek
| Mile 136.5 This is most everyone's favorite spot on the river. This is the place where I would like to lose the rest of the trip. I could hide out and sneak food from rafting trips as payment when they explore my home.

![]() (l. to r.) Joe, Stefan, Hank, and Chad are playing in the mud down at the river.
|
![]() The gorge above the water falls is stunning. |
![]() The creek has carved a smooth, deep, mini canyon over the past million years or so.

![]() Bessy is taking a (natural) shower in the creek
|
![]() The gorge opens up to a beautiful valley |
![]() Following the creek further upstream leads to this, a second waterfall thrusting out from the side of a cliff.
|
![]() One can easily walk up and relax behind the second waterfall. |
![]() Luxury rafting is possible in the canyon. We met this group at Deer Creek (and partied with them later). Note that umbrellas on all the rafts. They even had a battery powered bilge pump on one of the rafts. Good job!
